An important variable in Hospital Planning and Management is the patients length of stay's. A lot of Information about this variable is loss when we work only with his mean and do not consider his probability density function. This paper studies the length of stay (LOS) distribution in Intensive Cares Units (ICU) conditioned in patient diagnosis. A brief historical revisión of the problem of the hospitable LOS goodness-of-fit is presented here. The particular nature of ICUs Length Of Stay confronted with others infirmaries of the hospital is analyzed, as well as the advantages of its associations with patients clinical diagnosis. Clinical and administrative data relative to three years of operating of a ICU is utilized to generate Homogeneous Diagnosis Groups and probability distribution are fitted.
