Ihis study is the result of our concerns with the chemotherapy treatment, as far as its meaning for those who experience it is involved. The approach under the point of view of phenomenology has allowed a broad understanding of the chemotherapeutic treatment, contemplating the human aspects of the patientes who undergo it. For that purpose, we searched for the phenomelogy significance in the speeches of people under treatment, within the qualitative research methodology, by making use of a basic question for orientation: "What does the use of chemotherapy treatment mean to you?" The comprehensive analysis of speeeches, aiming at understanding them, has revealed that the experience with chemotherapy treatment affects several possibilities of the "being-in-the-world-with-others". From such a perspective, new horizons have been disclosed to us with regard to important aspects relating to the care of this being.
