Abstract

Using a women's perspective, this descriptive research aimed at analyzing the approach of the Women's Health Program and its implementation at the primary level of the Chilean Health Care System. The purpose of this study was to know the barriers and hardships as well as the degree of coherence between the program's theoretical guidelines and its actual activities. It was also important for the researchers to know the interaction between the health agents and the consultants women. The Information was collected through a survey "Integral Perception of women's health", made by the authors.
The sample was a simple random of 190 women. Great ignorance was observed by the users about the health activities that they have access. Having also observed an important percentage of dissatisfaction about the received attention. Needs that were not met and perceived as important ones by the womens surveyed, were discovered. The Women's Health Program at communal level is still centered in the gineco-obstetrics morbility with a narrow visión of the problems that really affects the woman.
