Abstract

Objective: To identify the knowledge that nurses in primary health care in Brazil, have regarding the nursing care systematization. Method: This is a descriptive research. The study included 18 nurses at health services in the Western Region of Santa Catarina. All participants signed up an informed consent form, in two version equal. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and revealed knowledge that nurses have on the subject, as well as conceptual controversies that emerge from academia. Results: The systematization was associated by the subject to a sequence of standardized steps that aim to care management, a form of service organization and health planning. However, something little in the literature, systematic, was sometimes mistaken as a new model of care. Conclusion: Controversies and deficits in articulation between training institutions and health in relation to the approach in schools were noted.
