THE THEORY FEMINISTA POST-ESTRUCTURALIST AND THEIR UTILITY IN THE NURSING SCIENCE
Keywords:
Nursing science, post-structuralist feminist theoryAbstract
Traditions are useful to the nursing discipline because they can be seen as a way to converge philosophical values and beliefs linked to nursing science. Paradigms evolution and new traditions allow understanding nursing in a social context. Poststructuralist feminist theory explains the economic, political and psychosocial mechanisms that keep sexist, patriarchal, and phallocentrical knowledge. This theory, thus, provides the point of view that knowledge and power are interrelated by male domination within social and political contexts. Understanding the meaning, language and speech are its basic assumptions. Poststructuralist feminist theory is a field to understand centralized knowledge of women and nurses.
