Objective: To analyze the health status of international migrant children reported in scientific journal
publications between 2014 and 2022. Materials and Methods: An integrative review based on the PRISMA guideline was conducted between June 2022 and February 2023. We searched for observational studies published in English and Spanish. Results: Of the 11 articles selected, most addressed different physical health conditions in international migrant children and a smaller proportion included studies on healthrelated quality of life (HRQoL) and mental health. Conclusions: Reporting on the health status of migrant children highlights common problems such as deficiencies in oral hygiene, nutrition, and acute or infectious diseases, as well as mental health problems, especially among refugee children. It also highlights the importance of considering the living conditions in the country of origin, the migration journey and the time spent in the host country. It is essential to address these problems from a public health perspective, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and culturally competent care. Nursing should play an active role in leading projects and strategies that address global child health challenges, thereby strengthening its credibility and its essential role in global health promotion and care.
