Abstract

The aim of this work is to identify and analyze the degree of exposure to flash flood hazard in Sierra de la Ventana settlement, South of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The method used comprise the elaboration of thematic maps from topographic maps, aerial photos and Google Earth support. The results allowed us the generation of flash flood hazard mapping at different degrees in the study area. The mapping underline the value of the hazard maps as tools for urban planning, management and decision making of stakeholders in the field.
