Abstract

In general terms, this paper makes comments about the concept of “corporate territories” as developed and presented by Milton Santos and, particularly, María Laura Silveira. By way of defining said concept, these authors have sought to account for the means by which certain bodies of territory are currently being composed in accord with the logic of large business enterprises or private corporations. The commentary refers to the issue in light of what is both new and old about the type of analysis; given the need to take into account the presence of local societies as a component of the social dynamics involved in the process; and considering elements that tend to limit the totally fluid, non-spatial character of large business enterprises.
