La construcción social de los territorios turísticos.

El caso de Pucón en la región de la Araucanía, Chile.

Abstract

Tourism is an activity printed on the geographical space; it is also a main factor in the construction of territory and territoriality. In this context, we aim to examine the characteristics of the tourist area of Pucón as well as the specificities given by the stakeholders through different strategies of appropriation of the territory. To answer this premise, we used a phenomenological approach, in order to revealing the mechanisms of the social construction of territory, recognizing both utilitarian and symbolic appropriation strategies of the territory.
