Las disputas del espacio y los senderos pehuenche en Alto Bíobío

Abstract

This article explores the role of path as space of representation and its implications within a border territory. Based on a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach, the article suggest that Cauñicú, Alto Bío-Bío, is a contested space since the various space representations the different cultures coexisting in a same territory have. This analysis is based on the findings obtained from the semi-structured interviews applied to pehuenche families and by the observation on the field during the investigation process in the indigenous community in Cauñicú.
