Visión integrada de la Bahía de Concepción (Chile) para el fomento del turismo cultural

This article describes the results of an exploratory and qualitative investigation to identify the main cultural attractions present in Concepción Bay, in order to promote tourism as a strategic economic activity for the environmental and cultural sustainable development of coastal communities. It proposes as the basis of this approach, an integrated landscape of the "Bay of La Concepción", since it distinguishes itself biocultural diversity territorial that is necessary to protect and preserve from a heritage perspective. The main finding of our research was to observe that the small-scale fishing has a rich cultural heritage from which emanates much of the cultural tourism Bay. Highlight the activities of the artisanal fisheries, seaweed harvesting jaivas and seafood, recreational boating, marine cuisine, handicrafts based on marine resources and wooden boats. These activities, which are associated with environmental and cultural knowledge of sea-faring people, are critical in shaping coastal tourism with its own characteristics, which is configured as economic activity aimed at the protection and conservation of this territory.
