Abstract

Map of Landscapes is a cartographic product synthesis resulting from the integration of the different natural components, the use forms and landscape morphology. However, the identification, mapping and classification of conventional landscapes are difficult and costly end. These issues become even more complex in geographical regions with relative degree of urbanization. Traditionally, these procedures are performed from field survey, overlapping thematic maps or a combination of both. In this work, the techniques of digital image processing with the focus of object-oriented analysis, combined with the interpretation based on visual criteria, the overlay of thematic maps and the fieldwork for the identification, classification and mapping of the landscapes of the Province of Havana. With the application of these techniques, maps of landscape units were generated at scale 1: 200,000, with 10 units of natural landscapes and 24 units of cultural landscapes.
