With the intention to contribute to empirical studies from the academic literacies perspectives (Lillis, 2021), this article analyses the writing experiences of students in Educational Management (Universidad de Nacional de Tierra del fuego) during their research training education. As we understand interviews as an autobigraphical genre (Arfuch, 2007), and a means of cultural expression through which different meanings and transformations of the self can be interpreted (Weintraub, 1991), in order to study the mentioned experiences, we analyzed six in-depth interviews carried out with students of the cohort 2018. The analysis shows that the writing experience enhances processes of resignification of the relationship between writing and knowledge, that brings into question the writer’s subjectivity as he or she finds him or herself producing knowledge, and therefore, changing positions in the academic field.
