Abstract

Knowledge and information have experienced exponential growth in recent years in accordance with the current globalized, complex and versatile society. In this context, organizations have been interested in managing knowledge to maximize its benefits, becoming a potential model for educa- tional institutions. Therefore, considering the relevance of the topic, the object of this research arose to know the organizational processes, related to Knowledge Management in a municipal educational establishment in the Ñuble Region, evaluated in the High-Performance Category, according to the Chilean Education Quality Assurance System. In this way, the ques- tion arises: How does the high school manage knowledge to approach its educational process in complex contexts? In order to answer this question, inquiry techniques were implemented about perceptions of identification, recognition and analysis of the processes of Knowledge Management.
According to the results, it was found that the high school has a culture that incorporates many binding elements, a process that is intuitive, as there is no explicit ascription to an specific model, rather, the Education actors are involved and inspired because of the directive leadership, which mobilizes to a collaborative learning, innovation, and adaptability to complex situations, relevant elements pointed in models as Knowledge Management. It was concluded that the challenge for the high school will be to verify if the stored information allows them to manage knowledge effectively and efficiently.
