First record of Heliotropium amplexicaule (Heliotropiaceae) in Chile

Abstract

The presence of the commonly known weed Heliotropium amplexicaule (Heliotropiaceae) is reported for Chile fi rst time, from a collection recently made in Santiago. Its potential as weed in Chile is discussed in the context of the experience of other countries where the species has become naturalised.
