GERMINATION AND GAMETOFITIC MORPHOGENESIS OF PTERIS INERMIS (ROSENST.) DE LA SOTA
Keywords:
Pteris, germination, prothallial development, growth regulatorsAbstract
The prothallial development of the Pteris inermis (Rosenst.) de la Sota is presented, studied by in vitro culture
techniques. The germination of the spores recently collected occurred at the 6th day and at the 27th day those that were
storaged for a year. The pattern of germination is the Vittaria-type. The treatment with growth regulators, Gibberellin and
Benzyladenine (BA), reduces the time of germination, specially with 0.5 ppm/L of Gibberellin. During the phase were
formed ramifications that originate colonies in the adult stage. The prothallial development is the Ceratopteris-type.
There were found antheridiate, archegoniate, bisexual and neutral gametophytes. Archegonia were formed in the abaxial
side of the central cushion or in both sides, adaxial and abaxial. They contained necks formed by 4 rings with 4 cells each.
