Abstract

: The applied research project entitled “Ergonomic Analysis of the Locomotor System in Fishermen of Puerto Peñasco, Sonora” aims to analyze and describe findings related to the causes of musculoskeletal problems associated with fishing work in the city of Puerto Peñasco, Sonora. The methodological process was developed in three stages: the first stage identified the area of ??analysis; the second stage selected the measurement instrument, which consisted of a Nordic questionnaire. This questionnaire is based on a series of questions designed to collect information about the condition of the musculoskeletal system, primarily the neck, shoulders, and lower back; the instrument also gathered relevant information about the knees, ankles, and feet, though to a lesser extent; and finally, the third stage involved administering the measurement instrument to a group of fishermen from different shipyards, who provided the necessary information through interviews.

Once the methodology was completed, the data obtained were recorded in the SPSS statistical software, providing measurements and graphical representations of various variables, such as age, years of experience, and the aforementioned musculoskeletal problems. The analysis reveals the musculoskeletal system components most frequently affected by wear and tear among fishermen in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, thus prompting further, more detailed studies.

Following the data analysis, conclusions are drawn from the results, and suggestions and recommendations for improvement are offered for this and future studies.
