About the Journal

Revista Geográfica del Sur is a scientific journal edited and published by the Department of Geography of the Universidad de Concepción, Concepción, Chile. Born in 2009, the Journal is heir to "Cuadernos Geográficos del Sur," published by the Central Institute of Geography of the University of Concepción until the 1970s, so it has a vast trajectory.

Revista Geográfica del Sur published eleven editions in its first stage (between the years 2009 and 2016).

The Journal aims to disseminate the work and knowledge of the geographic discipline and territorial studies. As of 2024, it publishes two issues per year. All the previous issues and volumes can be consulted and downloaded free of charge.

Revista Geográfica del Sur accepts original articles for publication that have not been published and are not in the process of being evaluated for another journal. The papers submitted must correspond to empirical and/or theoretical research in the social and natural sciences and have a marked character of innovation and progress for geographic science. The Journal is also open to receiving papers on state-of-the-art reviews of disciplinary topics.

Revista Geográfica del Sur accepts papers in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. For English, manuscripts are accepted in British and American English but not a mixture.
